Which Bikes Do We Buy?

When we say we buy any bike, we really do mean it! However, there are a couple of rare exceptions. Over the years we’ve bought bikes from all the top manufacturers, as well as many rarer makes and models too, from scooters to superbikes and everything in between, but here are some commonly asked questions regarding which bikes we buy.

Bikes on Finance

It’s not a problem if you bought your bike on finance and want to sell it to us, even if you haven’t fully paid it off yet. All you’ll have to do is provide us with a letter from the finance provider which states your current settlement figure and reference number.

We’ll then make sure to pay the finance company within four working days of completing the sale, take away the settlement amount from our agreed price and pay you the remainder.

If the outstanding payments are more than what the bike is currently worth, we’ll still buy it, as long as you can pay the shortfall at the time of purchase.

Private Registration Plates

We can still buy a bike if it has private registration plates, although it won’t put the value of your bike up. Of course, if you want to keep hold of your private plates, you’re more than welcome to do so, but you’ll have to arrange this with the DVLA.

Non-Runners

We’re happy to buy a motorbike in any condition, so long as it still runs ok. If the bike doesn’t start, then we can’t buy it, otherwise, we’re happy to take bikes that are in any condition, although the price that we offer will vary depending on this.

Imports

We can buy imported bikes as long as they’re registered here in the UK. Remember that models and specifications vary from country to country, so this could affect the value of the bike compared to one from the UK.

Modifications

If your bike does have any modifications, it’s best to remove them and return the bike to as close to its original condition as possible. Obviously, this isn’t always possible, so if there still are some modifications to the bike, be sure to make a list of them and take photos if you can and provide them to us so that we can value the bike accordingly.

It’s also worth noting that if your bike isn’t of UK origin or is over 25 years old, we won’t hold information for it in our site, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t buy it. Be sure to get in touch and speak to one of our team and we’ll see whether we can value the bike for you.
